Thanks for compiling these recommendations into a lovely list. I have added several of these to my TBR over the year, but it's good to be reminded to actually read them. I'm particularly keen to read The Other Valley. It sounds a bit similar to another book I enjoyed called Valley of the Moon by Melanie Gideon.
